I have participated in a few academic and industrial projects, as a co-worker.

Mathematical Modeling of Thermal Performance of Turbo-Compressor of a Typical Gas Station
(Dec. 2006- Sep. 2007)
Supervisor: Dr. A. Akbar Dehghan
This research was financially supported by: National Iranian Gas Company
In July 2007 I was invited to participate in a research project in order to analysis the performance of NP turbo-compressors of Durahan's Gas Station in Esfahan. The results of this project were represented in GAS STATION software developed by our group. This software works based on measured data and analyse the performance of station with the equations obtained from performance curves of turbines and compressors.
Production of Ferrofluid Containing Magnetic Nano-particles of Ferrite Oxide and Experimental Study on its Hydrodynamic Performance
(Mar. 2007- Dec. 2009)
This research was financially supported by: Azad Islamic University
I
have also done other projects that supported financially by myself:
Experimental and Numerical Analysis of Hydrodynamic Journal Bearings Lubricated with Ferrofliud.
(Jan. 2007- June. 2009)
Numerical results of this analysis can be used to investigate the oil flow pattern and the hydrodynamic characteristics of journal bearings lubricated with ferrofluid. The analysis is based on the numerical solution of the full Navier–Stokes equations using computational fluid dynamics techniques. Considering the complexity of the physical geometry, conformal mapping is used to generate an orthogonal grid and the governing equations are transformed in the computational domain. I have also done experimental tests on hydrodynamic behavior of ferrofluid flow between two eccentric cylinders in order to resemble a journal bearing. In these tests I have tried to find how different magnetic fields affect the structure of the flow.
Experimental and Numerical Study on Hydrodynamic Behavior of Wind
Catchers with Different Configurations
(Dec. 2006- Jan. 2010)
In these works I have tried to answer two main questions which I thought greatly affect natural ventilation performance of wind catcher systems:
1) What is the optimum configuration of wind catchers?
2) What are the main phenomena which affect hydrodynamic behavior of wind catchers?
I think it would be possible to find an optimum configuration for wind catcher systems in order to use the wind energy more effectively. In these researches, height, cross-section of the air passages, placement, and the number of openings as well as placement of the wind catcher with respect to the structure it cools, should be taken into consideration. To achieve this purpose I have concentrated on natural ventilation performance of wind catchers with different configurations.
These investigations were divided into two parts: Experimental and theoretical. In experimental studies different aspects were investigated:
1) Measurement of pressure coefficients and ventilation air flow.
2) Simulation of atmospheric wind
3) Evaluation of wind shadowing effects of adjacent buildings
4) Flow visualization
In the theoretical studies CFD simulation has been done. In order to evaluate the ability of analytical methods, I have also tried to compare the values obtained from these methods with the ones from experimental study. Some researches have been done are as follow:
• Experimental and numerical study on natural ventilation performance of one-sided wind catcher.
• Experimental study on natural ventilation performance of a two-sided wind catcher.
• Two-sided wind catcher performance evaluation using numerical and analytical modeling.
• Experimental and numerical study on natural ventilation performance of various multi-opening wind catchers.
• Experimental Measurement of Pressure Coefficients around Various Opening of Typical Wind Catchers.
• Numerical simulation of a typical wind catcher with the help of water-spray.
Now, I am working on the following projects:
- Numerical investigation on natural ventilation performance of a new design wind catcher.
- A hydrodynamic analysis of journal bearings operating under turbulent conditions – (Direct numerical simulation)
Being very interested in cooperative works, I invite the enthusiastic young students who are the best at thermodynamic laboratory to cooperate with my group.
